As part of the Urban regeneration and future city planning projects in Durban, a collective is being nursed into existence. It became apparent early on that an informational support structure needs to be implemented. In addition to a virtual office (to accommodate internal communications, schedule tasks and maintain admin momentum), a blog was set up.
This blog was meant to be a central publishing point and knowledge portal for all things related to urban gardening, food production and permaculture techniques. The main objective is to find several sub-editors to take control of the content and create whatever informational devices are needed.
Its usefulness becomes most apparent when the information is localised (so think local indigenous medicine plants, maps of sites for proposed guerrilla gardens)
